What were you doing before the BTS? What grade are you in? In what type of establishment? (High school, CNED…)
I’m currently in LAW faculty 😁 and I didn’t go through the BTS Insurance.
Why did you choose the insurance world? What interests you?
Insurance is truly a field with great diversity; you can find car insurance (material), bodily auto, construction, property damages… and many other types of insurance.
Are you in work-study or initial training? And in what type of company are you? (general agent, broker, mutual insurance company)
I am in Master 2 in Insurance Law in a work-study program (I’m at the headquarters of the French leader 🤫)
What advice would you give to a student wanting to pursue studies in insurance?
I recommend staying informed about current events, seeing if the concepts interest you… because insurance can seem complicated if you’re not interested, and above all, insurers are often viewed very negatively (the criticism you hear very often is insurers = thieves, but that’s not the only one)
Did you encounter any difficulties when you started? (in classes and at work) Which ones?
No, I didn’t face major difficulties because I had a student job at an insurance claims office (water damage, theft, etc.). This student job allowed me to see some important insurance concepts.
Do you think you’ll do insurance for your entire life? Why?
Yes! I aim to become an Insurance Lawyer because it’s a very varied position!
Has there been a big change between high school and the BTS?
I didn’t do the BTS, but I went through university studies. Note-taking was what “shocked” me the most when I started Bachelor’s 1. My high school teachers hadn’t prepared me at all for that!
Do you find university difficult? Which subjects do you find hard? And why do you find them difficult?
In my opinion, university is very tough… The number of pages of courses is truly enormous, with around 80 Word pages per subject multiplied by the 10 subjects we had per semester.
What type of student are you? (Not revising much with ease, revising a lot, revising little…)
Easy in high school, and since university it’s completely different because law (and insurance) is not innate!
I spent a long time looking for MY study method. I think I found it because I am now in Master 2. 😜.
Do you have any tips for better learning your courses?
I suggest “reviewing” your course right away: reread it and correct mistakes on the same day or a few days later, and tidy it up.
Then reread, re-re-read… Out loud, I personally learn better that way!
I explain my course to an imaginary friend who wouldn’t know anything about it. It forces me to explain in my own words, simply, and I remember very well!
If you continue your studies, what will you specialize in?
I want to stay in insurance haha, for me a bachelor + 5 years is more than enough.
Do you already have an ideal career plan?
Yes, I want to become an Insurance Lawyer

Maybe expand to university studies?
