Témoignage 21 : Students Graduated with a Master 2 in Insurance

Partager

This is the testimonial of a student who achieved the highest level of diploma in the insurance field: a master’s 2

What were you doing before the BTS? Which class are you in? In what type of establishment? (High school, CNED…)

I completed a Bac ES in a private high school. I then completed a BTS in Insurance

Why did you choose the insurance world? What interests you?

It was pure chance, without much conviction at first. I didn’t like school or the academic system itself. The work-study program was for me a way to continue studies while providing the practical side that I had always lacked. After that, I became “passionate” about the civil liability branch, which links the social/human aspect, the economic side, and legal.

Are you in work-study or initial training? And what type of company are you in? (general agent, broker, mutual insurance)

I was in work-study for 5 years at an insurance company.

What would you advise, to a student wanting to get into insurance studies?

Insurance is a field that doesn’t seem very glamorous at first glance and can even seem a bit rigid. But once you’re in, you realize that insurance underpins our private and professional lives in all its forms. You realize its usefulness, richness, diversity, and even the benefits insurance provides to people in distress.

Did you encounter difficulties when you started? (in class and at work) Which ones?

No… I don’t think I had real difficulties. However, insurance is so rich in professions that it’s possible we don’t find our path right away. It’s important to explore all the different fields of work.

Do you think you will do insurance all your life? Why?

Yes, I think I will do it my whole life because it’s truly a field that combines two principles I love:

  • the social/human and economic aspect
  • the legal aspect

Was there a big change between high school and the BTS?

A major change was particularly in autonomy. Another important point is the realization of the apprenticeship. When shifting from classes to the company, you can put many notions into practice and naturally integrate them, which seems very useful.

Do you find the BTS difficult? Which subjects do you find hard? And why do you find them difficult?

The BTS is difficult because everything is new. It involves concepts never encountered in the academic course. However, by following a methodology and a steady learning routine, I find it manageable.

What type of student are you? (Not revising much with ease, revising a lot, revising little…)

I am a student who studies a lot.

Do you have any tips for better learning your courses?

Creating summary sheets, methodological sheets especially for case studies.

If you continue your studies, what would you like to specialize in?

I just finished my master 2 in management, digital and insurance professions.

Do you already have an ideal career plan?

I wish to become a corporate RC Underwriter

Do you have anything to add?

Thank you for creating Aide BTS Assurance.
