What were you doing before the BTS? What class were you in? What type of establishment? (High school, CNED…)
I am in my second year of BTS Assurance in alternance, in a CFA, following a one-week company schedule and one-week classes
Why did you choose the insurance world? What interests you?
What motivated me is the diversified nature of the professions found in insurance, a vast world with many opportunities.
Are you in work-study or initial training? And what type of company are you in? (general agent, broker, mutual)
Yes, I am in work-study, working at a brokerage.
What would you advise to a student wanting to pursue insurance studies?
I recommend choosing work-study because it quickly gives you an idea of the profession and whether you like it or not.
Did you encounter any difficulties when you started? (during courses and at the company) Which ones?
Yes, at the company, because when you’re an apprentice, you’re sometimes treated a bit like slaves.
Do you think you will work in insurance for your entire life? Why?
No, I would also like to explore the banking sector.
Was there a big change between high school and the BTS?
Yes, a lot! I became more mature and I now have many responsibilities.
Do you find the BTS difficult? Which subjects do you find hard? And why do you find them difficult?
I find the Economics and Law part challenging.
What type of student are you? (Not studying too much with ease, studying a lot, studying little…)
I am a student who studies little, but has abilities in certain subjects.
Do you have any tips for better learning your courses?
The main advice is to listen well in class and at the company to learn better.
If you continue your studies, what would you like to specialize in?
After my BTS, I plan to pursue a banking/insurance license to explore careers in banking.
Do you have an ideal career plan already?
No, I don’t know yet; I don’t have one at the moment.
